1/3 CHOOSE A LIFE SCIENCE SEGMENT ?

I. Drug Delivery

Silicone is more than a material. It’s a 3 dimensional structured network with multiple degrees of freedom to control drug loading and release. Our targeted problem solving and concept-to-commercial support accelerates development and commercial success for our clients, making NuSil a one-stop center of excellence in silicone-based drug delivery.

II. Medical Implants

From our early days developing materials for intraocular lenses (IOL) and aesthetic implants, NuSil has remained the market leader and a steady supplier of implantable silicones. We continue our 30+ year commitment to implantable silicones- learn more about the recent advancements in our Implant Line.

2/3 CHOOSE A SILICONE FUNCTION

I. Adhere, Seal & Promote Adhesion

Silicone adhesives range from adhesive elastomers for permanent bonding, to temporary adhesives such as pressure sensitive adhesives or soft skin adhesives. Primers are also available to improve adhesion.

See products
II. Coat

A silicone coating is typically a low viscosity material used to provide a protective barrier to a surrounding environment. Silicone coatings can be either low consistency elastomer systems or silicone dispersions.

See products
III. Compression & Transfer Mold

High consistency rubbers (HCRs) are ideal for compression or transfer molding parts such as balloons, gaskets or o-rings. HCRs retain a formed geometry in the uncured state making them ideal for these processes.

See products
IV. Dip Mold

Due to the low viscosity of silicone dispersions and their ability to form a very thin film, they are ideal for dip molding processes.

See products
V. Extrude & Calendar

High consistency rubbers (HCRs) can be extruded to make rod and tubing or calendared to form thin sheets of uniform thickness. HCRs retain a formed geometry in the uncured state making them ideal for these processes.

VI. Liquid Injection Mold & Overmold

Liquid silicone rubber systems are specifically designed for injection molding and overmolding. They can be molded into many configurations using these processes.

VII. Lubricate & Siliconize

There are many types of silicones used to lubricate and siliconize devices: fluids, dispersions and greases. They all vary in viscosity, cure characteristics and functionality.

VIII. Other

Simethicone products may be used as anti-gas and anti-acid agents in the form of liquids, gels or tablets. They can also be used as an anti-foam in pharmaceutical processing.

IX. Pot & Encapsulate

There are many types of silicones used to pot and encapsulate devices: gels, low consistency elastomers, foams and sealants. They all vary in viscosity, cure characteristics and functionality.
